Traditional gas boilers need servicing regularly to ensure that it isn’t leaking carbon monoxide. Heat pump servicing is also important. A heat pump uses refrigerant to transfer heat from the ground or air to your home. This needs to be checked in line with manufacturer’s service instructions.

If not serviced on a regular basis, your heat pump could lose some efficiency over time, so a properly maintained pump could save you money by keeping it efficient to run, keeping it on good condition to last longer.

A Colne Heating service is not only the heat pump including a refrigerant leak check using a detector, but also an unvented cylinder inspection, expansion vessels charge check, magnetic filter clean, Glycol level (if required), visual inspection of the system & advice on system use if required.

Heat Pump Tips

These tips are generic & may be different depending on the make of your heat pump.

  • Is your outdoor unit free of obstructions, such as fences & plants? Heat pumps need lots of airflow around them.
  • Do you switch your heat pump off? The should be left on. All day, every day.
  • The difference between your room temperature & setback temperature on your room controller should be between 5 & 7 degrees centigrade.
  • If your heat pump is cycling (going on & off) lots,  it will need looking at as it will be using too much electricity.

If you have tried the above & your Heat Pump is still not operating correctly, call Colne Heating for a heat pump Repair in Colchester.
